Cookies we set
Vanlife.ie uses a minimal set of first-party cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social-media trackers, or remarketing pixels.
- Matomo analytics cookies (first-party): set by our self-hosted Matomo install at mana.ie/stats. They record an anonymised visitor ID, visit timestamp, pages viewed, and the referrer. IPs are anonymised before storage. The cookies persist for 13 months. They contain no directly identifying data.
Cookies we don't set
- No Google Analytics cookies.
- No Meta / Facebook Pixel cookies.
- No advertising / remarketing cookies.
- No social-media share-button trackers.
Cookies set by affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link on vanlife.ie, the destination retailer (Amazon, Bunk Campers, Awin for Indie, CJ for Roadsurfer) sets their own cookies on their domain, which they use to credit us with commission if you buy. These cookies are subject to the retailer's own privacy policy and live on the retailer's domain — we don't read or write them.
Opting out
- Enable "Do Not Track" in your browser. Our Matomo install respects DNT and won't record your session.
- Use a content blocker (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, similar) which will block matomo.js entirely.

Changes to this policy
If we add or change any cookie, this page is updated and the "last updated" date at the top reflects the change.
